[ his voice pitches a little in desperation. dragging his gaze away from the ceiling, he looks back towards iwaizumi, seeking out any injuries that might prevent this. ]
[He won't have to look for long, he holds up his hand for Nisaka to see, looking apologetic.] I can hoist you up if you really want out of here, but the elevator can start at any point too. We pressed the button, after all.
[He swallows hard, tries to stop himself from squeezing his eyes shut.]
[ so his options are either wait it out in agony or climb out of a metal box suspended in mid-air that could start moving at any time...
nisaka looks a little sick over it, pressing even further back against the wall. eventually, he slides down unto the ground, knees drawn up to his chest. ]
... [He goes quiet at that, thinking of the people he's met here who really are still kids. Even those he knows from home, most of them are a couple of years younger than he is. It's for that reason he slides down next to him, twists slightly to reach out and gently ruffles Nisaka on the head.]
Freaks, that's who. Just curl up if you want. [He hates how his own voice cracks.] I'm not going anywhere.
[ were it any other time, nisaka might have found the gesture reason to complain. now, though, he desperately tries to seek comfort in it. and though he's far from curling up on iwaizumi's side and crying into his shoulder — he definitely does draw his knees up a little tighter against his chest. definitely tries to wrap his arms around them in an effort to ward off all those unpleasant thoughts. ]
Not yet. [Is it even moving? It's hard to tell with the sinking feeling in his gut. Maybe it's going up, maybe it's going down, he just knows time feels as though it stops when you're trapped in here. There's a sense of guilt, too, for not being able to help Nisaka more.
It's why he leans his head back, stares at the ceiling and tries to not grit his teeth too hard in case it creates an unpleasant noise to go along with the creaking of the elevator.
Out of the corner of his eye he can see water leaking into the elevator, drip by drip in a way that makes his heart pummel with every sound it makes. Will this drop too? Last time it only moved as it should have done while they were inside, like it had waited to trap them.
There's no way he'll get away with sleeping tonight.
He feels like part of this craziness is from the lack of sleep too, a horrid cycle that never seems to end.]
Not yet... [When he repeats it, his voice sounds softer, like he doesn't know what else to say.

—No?
